In all honesty, I have to tried to begin this post so many times. But I haven’t been exactly sure how to start it. 

I’ve started a new venture. Like brand, spanking, new. And in a space that is already pretty crowded. There are so many women and companies doing what I do. But I listened to this little voice inside of me that kept pushing. Kept giving me signs that this was the direction I needed to go. So I listened.

I have all the feels. I’m excited. I’m nervous. I’m afraid of success. I’m afraid of failure. I am mostly afraid of letting those down around me. And failing. And then failing again.

I have been working really hard to find how to meld all my interests and, well, this is it. The beginning of a project I have wanted to take on for over a year. It’s still in its infancy, and I’m truly just putting one foot in front of the other right now (with a lot of help), but we are headed in the right direction and I’m having so much fun. 

If you are new here, welcome. Let me introduce myself. I am a 30-something boy mom of 2 and wife to an exceptional man. I am a pediatric physical therapist, certified health coach, and midway through having a masters in holistic nutrition. I am also a lover of pretty much all things DIY. I love dreaming, creating, and then sharing! Also in the mix is my advocacy for safer beauty products with Beautycounter and I truly believe there is no better company in the beauty space than them! I love fitness, running, tennis, and being near the water. Above all, I love my family.

As I began to contemplate what I wanted to do or how I wanted to combine my passions, I realized that I LOVE all of them and couldn’t imagine forsaking any of them. I began creating products for friends and family that quickly grew beyond a hobby. So Katie’s Healthy Home was born (and a soon-to-be sister website focused on childhood development and health). 

I want this to be a space you come to find out about various health and wellness topics, fitness, nutrition, finding a good DIY and maybe do a little shopping! Most of all, I want to teach through this platform. Knowledge is nothing if you can’t share it. 

Thank you for embarking on this journey with me. I’m sure it will be bumpy and full of missteps. But in the bumps there will be beauty and growth. Just as a diamond emerges from the rock, so too will my vision and dream for this company.
