Do You Believe?
Mar 08, 2023Or worded differently: do you believe yourself worthy of health? Of feeling amazing? Of not constantly worrying if you are doing it all “right”?
As made famous by Rick Page: Hope is not a strategy.
But do you REALLY believe you are worthy?
Do you BELIEVE in yourself enough to heal from your pain, trauma, _______ (enter your affliction here).
Today’s post is about so much more than just your health.
Do you BELIEVE?
Do you?
There comes a part in most healing journies where we hit a wall. We aren’t making progress or maybe it even feels like we are going backward.
Sometimes it’s that we feel like we don’t know what that first step is, so we do nothing. And spin our wheels.
Either of those feel like you? Maybe both?
A third category is that we know what we need to do and yet can’t bring ourselves to do it. Maybe it’s the meal planning or you can’t envision giving up foods you love even for a few months, or maybe that you don’t have the support at home to make these changes. Maybe you are afraid of what your spouse, partner, parents, or children will say.
When we find ourselves in one of these categories, we need to pause and ask ourselves: do I value myself enough to keep trying; to not give up; to not throw in the towel. Deep down what we are asking ourselves is if we feel worthy of success.
This is where a nutritionist or health coach comes can be helpful. While we may not have all the answers, we can provide the support and problem strategies to get you to the next level.
Because I can answer the above questions for every single one of you. You DO deserve success. In every aspect of your life. You may not be in a place where you have the belief in yourself, but that’s ok. I have enough belief in you for the both of us.
If you find yourself in this situation and you feel stuck, start journaling. Write down why you don’t deserve health, why you don’t deserve to feel amazing. You’ll be shocked at what comes out of your brain.
Once it is on paper, your rational brain will realize how unbelievable the items on this list are. As in literally, they are not believable. Because they aren’t true. And you’ll be able to empty them from your consciousness and move on.
Then make a list of all the reasons you DO deserve health. This list is often harder because our brain finds ease in picking out what’s wrong with us. Aim to write down just 5 things. Even if it takes you 20 minutes. Or a day.
This exercise is great if you are suffering from debilitating diseases such as cancer or multiple sclerosis as well as more common ailments such as digestion issues or acne.
And regardless of what you write down, I know ONE thing for CERTAIN: You DO deserve great health. Do NOT give up on yourself.
