It’s Official: I’m Officially Official
Aug 30, 2021Well, after two very long years, mostly during a pandemic, while working and parenting (and being part-time teacher for a few months), and starting a small business, I am FINALLY done with school. Not done with learning (that curve is just starting), but done with research papers, discussion boards, spending hours on PubMed, waking up at 5am on the weekends to complete homework assignments, and more importantly, having that constant cloud of something to do hanging over me. And always worrying if I actually turned in my homework assignment. I can’t tell you how many Sunday nights I woke up at 2am wondering, “did I dream that I submitted that?” And then having to get out of bed just to double-check so I wouldn’t be penalized for late work.
It’s been a doozy of a couple years.
I know I’m not alone.
But I can happily report that I graduated and officially have letters after my name…although I’m not sure what they are…yet.
Next up?
Well, some of that is still up in the air.
I’m not planning to stray far from what I’ve known for the last 15 years. I’m super excited to already be working with families with their nutrition and health goals. This means supporting moms, dads, AND kids.
I help children with ADHD and autism to ensure that their nutrition is supporting their learning and development in the best possible way.
This is an underserved group of children.
And root causes are often masked and not addressed.
Did you know that vitamin D and omega-3 levels have a significant impact on attention and behavior in this group of kiddos? It’s pretty amazing, and no one is really talking about it.
Gut health is also crucial for these kiddos (and adults too!)
Sifting through all the research is time consuming and overwhelming (I know from experience, TYVM 24 page capstone paper).
I don’t want you mamas having to sort through all of that. You have better things to be doing, like raising good humans, and playing chauffeur to sporting events, and being your kid’s biggest cheerleader.
My job is to get all the data and research in one place and work with you to come up with a plan that works for your child AND you. Fifty supplements and getting rid of sugar on day 1 doesn’t work for anyone. And if it does, it’s a short-term bandaid and not a long term solution.
I’m all about the end game and coming up with something that will create success for everyone involved.
But it takes time.
Progress over perfection, right?
One step in front of the other until you’ve got all the pieces in place. That’s what I’m here to help with.
And I can’t wait.
I feel like I’ve been preparing my whole life for this. It’s a dream come true.
